Practice Principal
Kim grew up on a sheep and cattle station at Julia Creek in NW Queensland. After completing a Diploma in Animal Husbandry from Gatton College in 1967, he attended Queensland University and graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) in 1972. He continues to enjoy veterinary practice after over thirty years as a vet. He is married with three adult children. Kim has one pet dog (“Beau”, the Poodle) and has interests in golf, bushwalking, reading
and wines.

Dr Vicki Barker:
Senior Associate Veterinarian
Vicki grew up in Brisbane and followed her older brother into Vet Science. She graduated with First Class Honours in December 1975 and moved to Nambour with her husband (also a vet) where they opened Nambour Veterinary Surgery in January, 1976. Vicki is a clinician rather than a surgeon and is also interested in wildlife medicine, particularly bats. Married with three adult children, she enjoys gardening, bushwalking, reading, food and wine.

Dr Mike
Shipstone:
Dermatologist
Michael Shipstone is a specialist Dermatologist, with qualifications in Veterinary Dermatology from both Australian and American universities. Mike visits our surgery once each month to offer consultations and if required, skin testing, for Sunshine Coast residents. Referral from your vet is necessary, and booking can be made directly through our practice.

Dr Michael Bernays:
Animal Eye Services
Dr Mike Bernays is a specialist Ophthalmologist and visits our surgery once each month. Referral is required from your regular veterinarian and bookings can be made through Mike’s rooms at Kessels Road Veterinary Hospital in Brisbane.
Mike uses our rooms mostly for consultation, with surgical procedures such as, eyelid and corneal surgery, cataracts and laser surgery, carried out in Brisbane.

Dr Gary Wilson:
Oral & Dental Surgeon
Since 1995, Gary Wilson has been established as a referral, dental veterinarian, for advanced procedures in endodontics, periodontal therapy, orthodontics, restorative dentistry and oral surgery. Gary comes to our practice once each month from the Veterinary teaching hospital at the University of Queensland, and is available to consult to clients referred by their regular vet. Bookings can be made by ringing our practice. |
